Interactive Information Design 2
I teach graduate digital media students research techniques for understanding people, environments and information needs and methods for designing complex systems. Students create models, design and test prototypes to improve user experiences across multiple touchpoints. Before the pandemic students analyzed physical-digital experiences in public spaces. During the pandemic projects focused on aspects of the Northeastern digital campus user experience.
In 2022, students worked to understand their experiences becoming NU students and using the digital campus. Working iteratively, students narrowed in on improving the NUWorks web application from their perspective as well as that of administrators. These images show artifacts from research and analysis phases.
Communicating experiences becoming an NU student through journey maps.
Students conducted heuristic analysis of the NUWorks application and identified opportunities for prototyping.
Students collaborated on analyzing their experiences and resources used.
Prior to the pandemic students learned ethnographic research methods and spent time observing people in public spaces. After analysis using the AEIOU framework students redesign an aspect of the experience, focusing on access to information.
