Dataverse repository software
Dataverse open source repository software has over 130 installations worldwide. It is developed and maintained by the Institute of Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University with The Global Dataverse Community Consortium.
I oversaw, led and collaborated with the IQSS team and the global community on research and design to integrate new features, improve usability, accessibility UI consistency and collection of metadata. Efforts included:
investigating and prototyping UI conventions to enable access to and use of privacy-preserving features through the NSF-funded Privacy Tools initiative
working with legal experts at Harvard to define and communicate policies related to deposits of sensitive data
research to define archetypes of Dataverse installations worldwide to help the Harvard team anticipate effects of core product development on the community and their installations.
Organizations customize Dataverse templates to showcase their topics and identities.
